What would happen if a sniper shot India's Prime Minister from a distance of 1 or more km?

The Prime Minister of India is guarded by the elite Special Protection Group. They are one of the finest protective service agencies in the world pretty much on par with the US Secret Service.
If one has closely seen the videos of our Prime Minister moving in the open or while interacting with the public, he's always covered by a layer of security around him.
The innermost layer is the Close Protection Unit whose main job is to immediately cover and evacuate the principal out of harms way. They carry the foldable bulletproof shield and carry personal defense weapons such as the FN P90 SMG, FN 57 Pistols. A close protection unit looks like this.
The immediate outer layer is the Counter Assault Team. They too carry the FN P90 SMG, FN 57 Pistols and the deadlier FN 2000 or the FN SCAR Assault Rifle. Their task is to isolate the attacker from the principal and counter attack them, while the Close Protection Unit rushes the principal out of the area of threat. A fully geared Counter Assault Team commando looks like this.
Below are the photographs available on the internet of the FN90 SMG, FN 57 Pistol and the FN 2000 & FN SCAR Assault Rifles which are used by the SPG commandos.
Below is a photograph of the foldable bullet proof shield. One must have seen the SPG commandos carrying a briefcase. In reality it isn't a briefcase but a shield to protect the principal from gun shots.
Now coming to the question of long-distance attacks in the form of drones or sniper attacks. The Counter Assault Teams also consist of sniper teams. They look something like this.
These highly trained snipers are deployed on high rises which provide a bird's eye view of the surroundings. From there the snipers are able to identify and neutralize any thing which they perceive as a threat. It is however officially not known if the Special Protection Group has it's own sniper units like the US Secret Service or does it utilize the services of the National Security Guard snipers during the PM's visits.
Now that the background of the Special Protection Group is given and what equipment they use and how they are structured, it would be interesting to see if an assassin can target the PM of India from the distance mentioned in the question.
Again, being an armchair analyst this is what I have understood.
For someone to be able to shoot from a distance of 1 km or more the shooter has to be extremely skilled and trained. The shooter should also have some mathematical skills to gauge the wind speed, angle of the shot, humidity etc. What also matters is the caliber of weapon the would-be assassin would use. Lastly the shooter needs real-time intelligence to know when and where the target will be at what time for him to be present.
Now let's assume the shooter has all the required skills, material and information, the security net thrown around the PM is extremely tight. It would simply be impossible for the shooter to be able to find a position and then execute the plan. Furthermore, the trained Indian snipers would be able to identify the target and neutralize it.
To complement the force on the ground it is also believed that the Intelligence Bureau and RAW constantly feed real-time intelligence to the Special Protection Group which helps the agency to assess the threat perception ahead of the Prime Minister's visit basis which the security plan is laid down.
The track record of the SPG since it's creation has been excellent with no fatal attacks on it's principal or it's personnel. (Rajiv Gandhi was attacked in Sri Lanka but the SPG commandos quickly overpowered the attacker who happened to be a Sri Lankan Navy personnel)
Hence I would like to conclude by stating that it would be impossible for an attack to be carried out by an assassin to assassinate the Prime Minister. India has an excellent agency with the best gear and training provided to them. They would ensure that the Prime Minister of India is well protected round the clock.
